Many opportunity seekers are looking to generate passive income from a legitimate mlm internet business opportunity, work from home business opportunity, etc. They desire to become successful and make money from home so the current economic conditions won’t seriously effect them.

However, before rushing to sign up for any business opportunity, whether it be some sort of internet affiliate program, multi-level marketing opportunity, direct sales opportunity, etc., the would be entrepreneur needs to always ask this crucial question. The question is, “Has the company I am considering passed the “early failure timeline?”

You see, any new home based income opportunity should be able to past the two year test. Why is this? It is because 99% of those new “ground floor” opportunities and start up companies don’t last for two years. Therefore, it would not make good business sense to waste time and effort building something that will evaporate after a few years. So, there should be no rush for potential reps to get in a “ground floor” opportunity. After all, if a company is good today, they should be great tomorrow. It is important to not fall for all the hype that abounds on the internet. One needs to learn to see clearly through all the smoke and mirrors before decisions are made.

In addition, distributors should consider that profits usually come after two years. Most new companies do not make a lot of money the first two years due to “pre-launch” start-up issues.

On the other hand, it is good to avoid a network marketing opportunity or any company that has gone way past their momentum phase and are now household names. This is important to consider since the potential for big growth is long gone.

Another important point to consider with any online business opportunity, including a mlm business internet opportunity, is to never join a company with zero profit margin! For example, if a distributor joins a company whose products can be found in Wal-Mart for 50% less than what the company sells them for, the rep is set up to doomed to fail from the start!

There are many home business opportunities for people to choose from now days on the internet. It is crucial to consider the “timing in the company, timing in the industry” issues and if the company has passed the “early failure timeline”. This will save all years of failure and frustration who are seeking to have a very successful mlm internet business opportunity or any other type of home business.

When writing in your blogs, you should write about your particular industry. An example would be if you’re in the travel industry, you can write about tips on travelling, great travelling places for summer, to-do list before taking a trip, and other tips.

Add your website, phone number, and email address to the blog. This will have people calling you or booking travel with you. This will work for any industry (wellness, weightloss, telecommunications, candles, eco-friendly products, skincare, etc.).

MLM Online Marketing Tip #2

Another MLM online marketing tip for growing your business on the internet is to use video marketing (ex: YouTube.com). Video marketing will generate a ton of leads. When creating your video, you can record yourself giving out helpful information. Or you could talk about your company and how it’s expanding into a new country.

This will allow you to target people looking for what you have to offer. Don’t forget to add your website and phone number. The video will allow generate alot of traffic to your website.

The third tip for marketing your MLM business online is to use PPC, or pay per click advertising. This can be done with Google, MSN, Yahoo, and many others. Using PPC will generate dozens of leads for you and help you in growing you business.

And what’s even better, you can advertise to people in different countries. So, if you’re company is starting up in another country, you’ll be able to advertise in that particular country.

Use these MLM online marketing tips to grow your business. When you do, you’ll add dozens of people into your business on a weekly basis, even if you’re on a budget.

The internet has opened up a whole new arena for marketing and with it has come many obstacles. There is an abundance of information on the internet that will tell you dozens of ways to market your product or business to the masses. I have purchased my fair share of courses and read more e-books than I care to admit, and I have now found the #1 obstacle in online marketing. Its not skill, its not money, its not time and its not fear.

The number one obstacle in online marketing is simply: a starting line.

The problem many of us face is that there is so much information available on so many different strategies: forums, articles, MySpace, E-bay, U-Tube, Funded proposals, etc, etc, etc. There are so many different strategies that it becomes overwhelming as to where to start. The problem is that many people get so overwhelmed with what to start with that they don’t start with anything. Trying to sort through all the information available on all the different online marketing strategies is like trying to eat an elephant. My grandma always told me there is only one way to eat an elephant; one bite at a time.

So which bite do you take first? The answer is it really doesn’t matter. Start at the tail of the elephant or start at the trunk, just start somewhere.

I found it easiest to start by creating a blog, writing a few articles and posting them to my blog along with a short description of me. Make sure that your blog contains links to your website. Once you have several articles on your blog, post those same articles to 4 or 5 article directories. You will now have your name and links to your company website in 20-30 places. Continue to write and post articles as frequently as you can. I try to post at least one new article every day.

Forums are also a great way to get your name out, but there are a few guidelines you should follow. Join forums that are of interest to you. These can be forums discussing your industry, network marketing, or any other hobby you might have. Use the reference box to promote your product or company, not the body of your posts. You will soon find yourself banned from the forums if you are promoting your products instead of providing assistants to other forum members. Also make sure you are adding to the discussions within the forum. No one likes a spammer. Don’t post just to post. People will see right through this and you will soon lose credibility.

I also encourage you to lean on your sponsor or mentor. Find out what they did and see if they have any articles that you can borrow for ideas on what you can write about. Make sure that your articles contain information that is accurate and of value to the reader.

To be effective in marketing your product or business, you have to diversify and use many different marketing approaches. No one approach will ensure success in your business, but a combination of them will.

What makes one person in a MLM Business opportunity successful and another a failure?  Why do some people work and make money from home while others struggle? 

There’s no simple answer to these questions.  However, there are keys to being successful in a MLM business opportunity.  It begins with choosing the right company for the right reasons.  It has to do with the person’s attitude, mindset, and desire.  It’s as much about the individual as it is the company the products and services it provides. 

Two of the keys I’m sharing are all about you.  They are the ones that will make the difference of whether you succeed or not.  The other keys are very important, but nothing will happen without you.

Here are the “Five Keys to Make Money at Home with a MLM business Opportunity:” 

Key #1:  You have to recognize the opportunity when you see it 

You may think opportunity it is all about money.  That is wrong.   Opportunity is about the company and its products and/or services and the growth potential in the market place. What is the quality of the products or services offered?  Does the company stand behind them?  How are they different from the competition?  Are they affordable?  Do they fill a need no one else is supplying?  Are these products or services you can believe in? 

It’s about timing.  It is best to find an MLM business opportunity that offers emerging products and services.  Is the company really on the cutting edge of research and technology or are they talking a good line?  Where do you see the company and industry headed in the next five to ten years?   Where do you see the need in the market place in the coming years, is it going up or down? 

Key #2:  Have the desire to make your business profitable 

I know this sounds silly, but its true.  To succeed and make money at home you have to have a desire to make money – more money than you spend.  In other words, make a profit.   

You have to see yourself working the business and succeeding.  You must visualize the end results and see yourself successful.  See it!  Feel it!  Sense every bit of it.  Your subliminal mind will take over and direct your actions for success. 

Without desire you will go nowhere.  You must have a burning desire to achieve what you want.   Does the business opportunity have the ability to do that for you?  What are your dreams and goals?  Does the company help you achieve them?   

You have to believe in the company, its leaders and products and services.  You have to believe in yourself and your ability to make money at home with this company.   

You must have a sense of purpose.  You must know where you want to go in business and in life.  Will the business take you there?     

Your desire, belief and purpose have to be so high that fear goes out the window.  You are on a mission and you will complete it no matter what the obstacles. 

Key #3:  Recognize that to create wealth you must leverage other people’s time and energy 

Corporations know and understand leveraging is the key to success.  Show me a large company anywhere in the world and I will show you leveraging.  Companies hire employees to do the work that wouldn’t be possible if only one person did it.  By leveraging companies are able to produce products and services for the masses. 

A MLM business opportunity allows you to leverage and do the same thing. As an independent representative you are a distributor of their products and services.  Your job is to do two things: gather customers and find people who want to build a business just like you, business partners.

As you find and train business partners you leverage your time and energy.  A synergy begins to grow where the sum of the efforts actually out performs the number of people in your organization.  That is how you build solid long-term wealth with a MLM business. 

Key #4:  Have a strong desire to create residual income 

We all understand the concept of residual income.  You do something once and you get paid for it over and over again.  Residual income is the key to everyone’s success.  Once you have learned the secrets to leverage other people’s time and energy residual income will come your way.   

You can earn residual income with either a products oriented or service oriented company.

 However, I have found a services oriented MLM business opportunity is more likely to have lasting residual income.  Here’s why:   

When you sell products they tend to operate on a month- to-month basis with the only connection to long term being auto shipment.   

On the other hand, when you sell services there is generally an annual contract.  The services are billed month-to-month but the commitment is much longer.  Service oriented customers tend to stay with the company a lot longer thus giving you a longer lasting residual income opportunity and a great way to make money at home.  

Key #5:  You must take action to get the ball rolling 

Everything we do takes action.  Even the simplest of things like mowing the lawn, driving to the store, or going to work every day.  It all takes action.   

Building a MLM Business opportunity requires action, too.  In fact, it takes a lot of action to get it rolling.  You will have to work hard in the beginning.  You might not see much activity for weeks or maybe months.  It can be challenging. 

Your desire, belief and purpose are going to carry you and get you past the challenges.   You will take action because you mentally see the results.  You believe you will succeed. 

To make money at home and achieve your goals you must take action every single day.  You must do the things that will grow your business and build the long-term residual income you desire.
