For example, if a distributor joins a company whose products can be found in Wal-Mart for 50% less than what the company sells them for, the rep is set up to doomed to fail from the start!

It is crucial to consider the "timing in the company, timing in the industry" issues and if the company has passed the "early failure timeline".
